Minxia Liang

Dr. Liang earned a MA and PhD in Ecology from Sun Yat-sen University in 2009 and 2014, respectively. She was postdoc and researcher in School of Life Science, Sun Yat-sen University from 2014 to 2022. She joined School of Ecology, Sun Yat-sen University in February 2022. Dr. Liang is the winner of the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and PI of State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol.

She mainly focuses on the mechanism of species coexistence in forest communities, and systematically study how biological factors (pathogens, mycorrhizal fungi, and other mutualists) and abiotic factors (such as different chemical forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, humidity) drive community construction and ecosystem function in forest ecosystems.

Especially how nasty fungi (pathogens) and friendly fungi (mycorrhizal fungi) interact with each other.

Her research combines field survey, field experiment and shade-house experiment to produce novel insights into understanding what shapes and maintains diversity in natural ecosystems.
